Descripción del producto
CNC Stamped Stainless Steel Mounting Clip for Industrial and Electronics Applications
Product Overview

Mounting clips are essential components that ensure reliable attachment in industrial and electronic applications. Our stainless steel clips are precision-stamped using progressive die technology, delivering consistent performance and durability under demanding conditions including vibration, thermal cycling, and repeated use.

Key Features
  • SS 301 Spring Temper Cold-rolled to 1/2 hard or full hard temper for optimal spring properties with tensile strength of 1,100-1,400 MPa (full hard). Springback is calculated and compensated in die design.
  • Progressive Die Stamping 8-12 station progressive dies for complex clip geometries with production rates of 150-300 SPM. Consistent spring force with variation less than 10% in retention force.
  • Retention Force Control Clip retention force designed to specification (typically 5-50N). Force tested with spring gauges on every production lot, including force-displacement curve in first article.
  • Edge Quality Stamped edges clean and burr-free (burr less than 0.1mm). Vibratory deburring standard on all clips to prevent damage to wiring insulation or mounting surfaces.
  • Surface Finish #4 brushed finish on exposed surfaces (decorative clips) or 2B mill finish for internal/industrial clips. Passivated after stamping to remove iron contamination.

Applications
  • DIN Rail Mounting Clips Spring clips for mounting terminal blocks, relays, and circuit breakers on 35mm DIN rails with reliable snap-on/snap-off function.
  • Cable and Wire Clips Stainless steel clips for securing cables and wiring harnesses to panels and chassis with rounded edges to prevent insulation damage.
  • PCB Mounting Clips Spring clips for securing PCBs to enclosures without screws, designed to withstand vibration and shock testing per IEC 60068.
  • Panel Mounting Clips U-clips, J-clips, and S-clips for mounting panels, nameplates, and labels to sheet metal enclosures without fasteners.
  • LED Light Module Clips Mounting clips for LED light engines and drivers in luminaire housings with heat-resistant spring action for 80-100°C operation.
  • HVAC Duct Clips Spring clips for connecting and sealing HVAC ductwork using heavier gauge (0.8-1.5mm) SS 304 for structural applications.
Manufacturing Process
  1. Design Review Clip geometry for spring function, retention force calculation, material selection, and cycle life requirements.
  2. Prototype (if new design) Laser cut flat pattern from specified strip, hand-formed bends, force tested with 1-3 design iterations typical.
  3. Die Design & Build Progressive die with blank, form, bend, and coin stations including springback compensation and optimized material utilization.
  4. Stamping Progressive die stamping on 30-60 ton presses at 150-300 SPM with in-die sensors and water-based lubrication.
  5. Deburring Vibratory deburring to break all sharp edges (less than 0.1mm burr) for handling safety and component protection.
  6. Passivation & Inspection Nitric acid passivation per ASTM A967 with retention force testing and dimensional inspection on every production lot.
Frequently Asked Questions
SS 301 or SS 304 for my mounting clip?
SS 301 if the clip needs spring action - it flexes when installed and provides retention force. SS 304 if the clip is a rigid mounting bracket that doesn't flex. SS 301 in spring temper costs about 10% more but is essential for functional spring clips.
How long does a progressive die take to build?
3-4 weeks for standard DIN rail or cable clip dies, 5-6 weeks for complex multi-bend clips with tight tolerances. Laser cut prototypes available in 3-5 days during die construction.
What's the die cost?
$5,000-8,000 for simple clips (3-5 stations), $8,000-15,000 for complex clips (8-12 stations). Die life is typically 500,000-1,000,000 strokes before re-sharpening.
Can you design the clip from my mounting requirement?
Yes. Provide details on what you're mounting, mounting surface dimensions, required retention force, and operating environment. We'll design the clip geometry, select materials, calculate spring force, and provide prototypes.
Do you have standard clip designs?
We have tooling for standard DIN rail clips (35mm/15mm rail), cable clips (6mm-25mm diameter), and U-clips for common panel thicknesses (0.8mm-1.5mm). Standard clips have no tooling charge.
What's the minimum order for stamped clips?
5,000 pieces with progressive die, 1,000 pieces for laser-cut prototypes. Setup time makes runs under 5,000 pieces more cost-effective with laser cutting.
